The Portland Field Naturalists' Club

The Portland Field Naturalists' Club was formed on 1st May 1945.   The Club has been pivotal in advocating for the creation of a number of parks and reserves in the region including Mt Richmond, The Lower Glenelg National Park, Bats Ridge Wildlife Reserve, Cape Nelson State Park and Discovery Bay Coastal Park. The most recent was the Cobboboonee National Park declared in 2008.
